Karen Perry is founder of Event Journal, Inc., provider of marketing services that position fundraising events for success. The firm helps nonprofits to expand outreach and engage supporters to participate in fundraising events. From marketing consulting and strategic planning to creative services/design, media management and specialty event micro-sites, Event Journal, Inc. produces communications that maximize bottom line results.
The company's lead product, EVENTjournal.com is a full-service web-based system that transforms traditional ad journals into year-round marketing and fundraising opportunities. Sponsors, guests, donors and the organization's staff all benefit from the added capabilities. CharityGolfSites.com (CGS), introduced in 2011, offers professionally-designed and managed golf event websites. In 2012, the company will release Visionary Online Auction to extend fundraising opportunities for its clients.
Ms. Perry is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University College of Communications. She has worked at several of New York City's top advertising agencies providing strategic planning and account management services to Fortune 100 accounts including Colgate Palmolive, American Home Products, Seagram and General Mills. Ms. Perry's experience also includes stints in publishing and broadcast television, where she spearheaded several successful multimedia initiatives
In addition, Karen Perry holds a Master's degree in Social Work from Adelphi University. Her professional experience includes community organization, outreach and casework roles in agencies including the Fresh Air Fund, Nassau Suffolk Law Services Committee, the Nassau Country Services to Rape Victims Hotline and The Mental Health Association of Nassau County.
Professionally, Karen Perry is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Greater New York (AFP-GNY), Women in Development (WID), the Nonprofit Resource Group and The Fundraising Alliance. She sits on the development council of the School-Business Partnership of Long Island, where she serves as website chair. She was a founding member of the Foundation for Sight and Sound, and served as event chair for its 1,200 person wine-tasting gala. Additionally, Ms. Perry has served many other boards and committees. She is a recent winner of the Long Island Business News “Top 50 over Fifty” award for contributions in the business and nonprofit community.
Karen Perry's unique and varied background, creativity and entrepreneurial drive enabled her to create the revolutionary Event Journal system and expand it to the full-service Visionary Event Marketing, Inc. Her personal mission is to help nonprofits maximize revenues from their special events to put to use for their important work.
